MCA TWENTY20 RULES

Regular MCA league rules apply, with the following key differences:
  1. START OF PLAY:
Matches start at 12:00pm and 3:00pm each day. Umpires shall deduct overs from one or both teams upon late starts.
  2. FREE HIT:
A no ball (overstepping) is penalized with a free-hit on the following delivery in which the batsman can be dismissed only by run-out, hitting the ball twice, obstructing the field or handling the ball. Also no change in the field settings are allowed during free-hit. The umpire shall signal a free-hit to the scorer prior to delivery.
  3. LENGTH (PERIOD) OF SUSPENSION:
The period of suspension will apply to number of games or number of months depending on the nature and seriousness of the infraction. Since the MCA runs an indoor and an outdoor league, SUSPENSION MUST BE SERVED IN (OR MUST APPLY TO) THE LEAGUE IN WHICH THE INFRACTION OCCURRED, AND IF NOT COMPLETED IN A GIVEN SEASON, MUST BE CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT OR SUBSEQUENT SEASONS. In addition, suspension from one league will debar a player from participating in another league. SUSPENSION MEANS SUSPENSION FROM ALL MCA SPONSORED ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS.
  4. WASTING TIME:
Umpires may award five runs to one of the teams playing the match, in case the umpires feel that the other team is needlessly wasting time.
  5. TIME LIMIT:A bonus of 6 runs per uncompleted over is awarded to the batting team in case the bowling team does not begin their 20th over before 80 minutes (average of 4 minutes per over). This rule is intended to be strictly imposed since completing the match within 3 hours is crucial. The scheduled number of overs must still be completed.
